The action plan will be built weekly as you complete the assignments with a completed action plan due in week 7. The Web Provider (TWP) is a fast growing small high-tech start-up company established in 2009. The company specializes in selling Web server space to clients. The server space TWP markets runs from a network of personal computers allowing for more efficiently managing server space and greater flexibility to customers, who often want weekly or even daily updates to their Web sites. TWP also provides a special security encryption software protocols that make the TWP server space nearly impossible for hackers to access. The government has recently contracted with TWP to provide a secured site for some of its classified intelligence. Due to the increase in contracts TWP will need to hire 12 programmers, 2 marketers, an HR manager and other support personnel.
The Charming Kids Threads company is a distributor of children’s clothing. It sells exclusively through its merchandising catalog, which is published four times a year, and the internet via the company’s website. Customers can order merchandise from the catalog via mail, internet or phone orders. Currently 65% of the orders are through the internet and the organization expects this to increase to 80% within the next year. The success of the company depends on the success of the website and marketing as well as the customer service representatives (CSRs). There are currently 225 CSRs; that number should increase to 255 to handle the anticipated growth of internet orders. Other support personnel could be needed to meet the demand, this should be determined in the planning.

In order to stay in business Y4Y will need to right size by looking at the staffing of the organization. Currently there is 1CEO, 1CFO, 1 HR manager, 2 HR specialists, 4 Marketing Directors, 10 designers/architects, 4 engineers, 28 ship fitters, 5 electricians, and 8 mechanics.
